Introducing ‘Collections’ on 2050 Materials

2050 Materials New Collections Feature Interface

Check out 2050 Materials collections here

What are collections?

Our newest Collections feature gives you the ability to group products from the 2050 Materials platform into curated and organized lists. These lists can be created for a specific project, a specific material category, or even just as a brainstorming or inspiration board.

But there’s more to collections, as we’ll explain below.

Why we built this

We started 2050 Materials with the vision of building the first true data platform of the AEC industry. We dream of a future where whether you are an architect, an engineer, a BIM developer or a real estate investor, you use a single platform to answer all your product and material questions.

On our path to this vision, we’ve collected millions of datapoints. And while we love data, we quickly realised that it can become overwhelming to sift through all that information. We heard a lot of you say you needed a way to save, and curate what is relevant to your work.

Collections is the solution to exactly that. They let you build custom, curated lists that you can use across your organization.

A Curated Selection for Easy Access

With over 170,000 products in our database, finding the right materials can be overwhelming, and sometimes research process are repeated, because you have no way to save the product you’ve found.
At least that was the case until now.

Additionally, you can access public collections (for example our curated selection of sustainable acoustics) before moving to the full category of acoustic products.

Empowering Industry Professionals with curated and condensed knowledge

The Collections feature is a valuable asset for architects, engineers, consultants, and real estate developers looking to streamlined data collection and collaboration.

While the rise of EPD generation is positive for the industry, it also presents a key challenge: more data to look through means more work.

Publishing Collections: Our call to promote knowledge sharing

The path to a climate-neutral built environment is paved with collective knowledge and shared insights. At its core, progress in sustainability relies on collaboration — breaking down silos to harness the power of shared understanding. This is why we empower users to publish their Collections, transforming individual insights into communal assets.

By making Collections public, you contribute to a growing ecosystem of expertise, enabling others to discover curated carbon databases and apply innovative materials in their own projects.

Let’s talk features

Add products from the library to custom collections

Continue browsing products and materials on the library. When you find something you like, click on the “Add to collection” button in the product page.

Download the data in Excel

For those with access, we offer the ability to download the data of your private collection in full. This gives you the opportunity to create a real-time carbon database in less than an hour.

Explore & Get Inspired by Public Collections

To kick off the release, we’ve created 4 unique Collections carefully curated by the 2050 Materials team and our network. Among these collections are products selected from the Henning Larsen product catalogues featuring exterior materials and interior materials.

Check them out and expect more of these soon!

The EU's Digital Product Passport regulation provides all three simultaneously. A legal mandate across 27 member states. Standardised, machine-readable data requirements defined in law. The Data Center Boom: Why Sustainable Construction Must Keep Pace with Digital Demand

The global data center boom is accelerating fast and the construction industry needs to keep up sustainably. As companies invest nearly $7 trillion in digital infrastructure through 2030, embodied carbon in concrete, steel, and MEP systems is becoming one of the most critical and overlooked levers for emissions reduction. Here's what the numbers say, what industry leaders are doing, and why EPD-verified material data is essential for building responsibly at scale.
