Five terrazzo colours took a Red Dot Design Award this year, and four of them carry certified recycled content that most colour launches never bother to disclose. They arrive as part of a fifteen-colour range for 2026.

Five HIMACS Terrazzo colours have just picked up a Red Dot Design Award 2026 in the Product Design category, one of the most closely watched distinctions in the industry. The win lands alongside a broader launch: fifteen new HIMACS colours for 2026, spanning terrazzo, marble-inspired Calacatta surfaces, solids and stone-textured Aurora & Marmo finishes. Between the two announcements, HIMACS is using its 2026 range to make a fairly direct argument: that a decorative solid surface can also carry a verifiable recycled content number, and that the two don’t have to trade off against each other.
Each colour reworks the traditional heavily-grained terrazzo look into a contemporary palette. Four of the five carry SCS-certified pre-consumer recycled content, sourced from HIMACS’ own manufacturing and fabrication offcuts rather than material bought in from elsewhere.

A cool, red-wine-toned shade built to sit alongside greys and beiges.
A warm nougat shade flecked with red, named for its cloud-soft base tone.
The darkest of the five, with a dense scatter of lighter grains, and 25% SCS-certified pre-consumer recycled content, among the highest levels currently available anywhere in the HIMACS portfolio.

Calacatta Vista, Calacatta Desert Moon and Calacatta Lake Moon join three existing shades, bringing marble-inspired veining to a non-porous, thermoformable surface.
Aurora Sage, Aurora Pluma and Aurora Nero all launch with SCS-certified recycled content of their own. Aurora Alps becomes available in an extra-wide 1520 mm sheet for larger, more seamless installations.

Two nature-led Solids, Urban Sage and Lafayette Green, join the family and are aimed at biophilic interiors, and the line closes with Perna White, a soft-blush neutral rounding out the palette.
The recycled content figures and the EPD referenced above aren’t just claims from a press release. They’re backed by verified sustainability data on the 2050 Materials platform, part of an ongoing partnership with LX Hausys, where the same numbers can be checked directly and compared against similar products.
